Get Low Stock Notifications for Your Shopify Store with EZ Inventory
This feature could probably be a separate Shopify app on its own but we decided to make it part of EZ Inventory to provide more value to our customers.
In addition to being able to automatically update your products' inventory levels in your Shopify store, you can also now set up low stock alerts for each of your product variants. You'll receive an email notification almost instantly when the stock level reaches or goes below the threshold you specified in the app.
The way it basically works is our app listens to "events" coming from your Shopify store. Whenever something changes to any of your product data, the Shopify API will send an event to our servers containing the product data. Our app will then process this data and trigger a notification if necessary. This process usually only takes a few seconds so you'll get the alert almost instantly.
You can actually even set up multiple stock alerts for each variant at different stock levels (currently limited to up to 5 per variant). This way, you can get separate notifications when the available quantity is at say 50, 25, 10, 5, and 0.
This could come in handy for your best-selling products for instance. Maybe at 50, you might want to contact your supplier to place a restock order. Then at 25, perhaps you might want to check with them if they can rush the order. This way, you can reduce the chances of going out of stock, leaving money on the table.
We also have an option to automatically re-activate the alert once it's triggered if the stock level goes back above the threshold so you can pretty much just set it and forget it. You'll get an email notification when it gets triggered, then it automatically resets once you restock, and will get triggered again once the stock gets low.
The email notification will look something like below:
It's pretty straightforward to use and we hope this additional feature will help solve some inventory management headaches for Shopify store owners.
We have a 7-day free trial so if you'd like to give it a try, just install our app from the Shopify App Store.
