If you get an IP address then it's not the driver and you might just need to recreate you deployment point. Did you also try entering “ipconfig /all” in the cmd window in WinPE? I am positive I have the right NIC driver, an Intel Gigabit driver. After booting to my Win PE CD and entering my network credentials, I continue to get the error “A connection to the deployment share (\\server\deployment_share) could not be made. The deployment will not proceed.” I even went so far as to create the CD (from the Lite-Touch ISO file) with ONLY the network drivers and none other. I would appreciate some advice of what's going on here. We're deploying XP Pro, SP3; I update the deployment point and create the deployment CD from the ISO file created.
